You mean dissecting things? I don’t do it actually – I’ve never done it… I’m a bit squeamish (if I wasn’t I would have been a doctor) which means I would probably faint it I had to dissect things. I’ve worked with blood and cells but never with anything bigger like a whole animal…

I only ever get to dissect computers, and I don’t feel sorry for them at all!

I don’t do that because I work in physics and spend my time solving equations and thinking about space and time and things like that. I am pretty squeamish so I’m glad I don’t dissect things!

I don’t have to do any dissections in my current work, but I had to at school. It is a bit gross, but it can be really interesting.

I did a lot of dissecting when i was at univeristy, everything from worms, to sharks, to humans and I really enjoyed it. It is a bit strange at first but once you get over that, it’s just really interesting to see the inside of things, organs and work out what all the structures are. It’s not for everyone tho and you don’t have to do it to be a scientist so don’t let it put you off!
