      You probably won’t have come across many of my programs. Most of my programming work is for other programmers to use, rather than writing applications or games. I wrote a text book though called Python for Rookies to help teach first year University students and school students to program. That was a lot of fun and we still use it with some of our students at Wolverhampton.

      Some Computer Scientists do work more closely with commercial companies though. For example, this year Paul E. Debevec at the University of Southern California won an Academy Award (which is like an Oscar) for his work on computer graphics which helped make the film Avatar possible.
