• Question: As some cancers are caused by radioactive particles, what is your view on nuclear power?

      That’s good knowledge – yes, some cancers are caused by radiation but I don’t think we need to worry about nuclear research or nuclear power. Those industries are highly regulated and the waste is carefully controlled so there’s not that much risk from that. Although – having said that, we all remember chernobyl and the accident that happened there so I guess I do worry a bit – we have to be really really careful. I’m more worried about governments using nucelar bombs in warfare – like what happened in Japan in the second world war. I don’t think it’s ever ok for governments to use nucelar missles against each other and I would like all governments to get rid of their nuclear bombs. I think the benefits of clean nuclear power outweigh the risks for energy but not for defence. What do you think?
