• Question: Do you believe that herbal remedies are affective? Or are you skeptical?

      I believe in herbal remedies – some (like St Johns Wort) have been proven to have medical benefits. I also believe in the placebo effect – that is if you take a pill and think you’re going to get better, you often do – it doesn’t matter what’s actually in the pill – the power of the mind!!! However, I think a lot of herbal remedies (and particularly homeopathy) work this way – I don’t think they have any active ingredients…

      I think that herbal and more holistic therapies can make you feel better as a person, without having any medical effects but lots of studies have shown that if you are in a positive and good state of mind, and relaxed and feeling good, this can help you if you are having treatements. I think that a combination of both medical and herbal is good, as long as they don’t have side effects that would affect the others but I am not convinced of any medical effects that they might have!
