I think that it is hard to put an actual number of years on when a cure will be found. At the moment, certain cancers such as testicular, acute lymphocytic leukemia in children, Ewing’s sarcoma (a form of bone cancer), Wilm’s tumor (a kidney cancer in children), Hodgkin’s disease, , testicular cancer, choriocarcinoma (placental cancer) are all considered to be “cureable” meaning once you have had treatment, it’s highly unlikely to come back. However, this all depends on the cancers being picked up early enough and this is a big problem. The sooner the cancer is treated, the better so that is why if you are ever suspicious about your health, you should get straight to your doctor!! Hopefully, in the next few years, more and more treatements will be discovered that will help more people but as all cancers are different, it may take a while! That said, having cancer nowadays is not as scary as it once was as there are some really remarkable treatments out there!
